Capenhurst Angling Club is a small friendly club that was formed in the 1960’s by staff at the Capenhurst Works near Chester. Membership was originally restricted to Capenhurst staff but is now open to anyone.

Members can enjoy fishing for Salmon, Sea Trout, Trout and Grayling on a one mile section of the River Dee, near Corwen. This water is particularly suitable for fly fishing for all these species. The Grayling fish can be superb, fish up to 3lbs in weight being landed most years.

Members also have access to a three quarter of a mile stretch of the River Elwy, near St. Asaph. This river has an excellent run of Sea Trout and a run of Salmon.

Members also have access to fly fishing for Rainbow Trout on a small lake near Holmes Chapel.
